Brynne Billingsley is the Artistic Director of Brynne Billingsley & Artists, a NYC based contemporary dance company founded in 2014.
Originally from New Orleans, LA, Brynne began her professional dance training at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts and graduated with honors in Dance Choreography and Performance from the University of Southern Mississippi. Brynne received her M.F.A. from Hollins University where she researched breath-based healing practices and authentic embodiment.
Brynne has been presented by Women in Motion, Red Bean Studios, and Triskelion Arts and has shown her work in NYC at The West End Theater in the Soaking WET Festival, The Chashama Gallery in Times Square, The NYU Skirball Center, the Dumbo Dance Festival, Joyce Soho in the Performance Mix Festival, Northside Festival, and on rooftops and lofts in Brooklyn during the Bushwick Open Studios Festival.
As a dancer, Brynne has had the honor of contributing to various projects with such renowned artists as Bjork, Chris Elam/Misnomer Dance Theater, Jody Oberfelder Dance Projects, Murray Spalding Movement Arts, and Elizabeth Corbett O'Malley.
Brynne also cherishes teaching and was honored to return as a guest artist with the New Orleans Ballet Association and as a returning artist at her alma mater, the University of Southern Mississippi. Brynne was also recognized by her alma mater for excellence in dance and inducted into the University of Southern Mississippi Dance Hall of Fame.
Brynne is the owner and founder of Progressive Pilates Williamsburg where she supports her clients through restorative and powerful bodywork and well-being coaching services.
