Movement

I founded my movement studio Progressive Pilates Williamsburg in 2011 with the intention of providing a center for somatic education, healing, and community. My decades-long fascination with the human form, dance, and embodiment lead me to develop a uniquely effective movement experience integrating the Pilates methodology, principles of ballet and modern dance, corrective postural therapy, yoga, meditation, pranayama and breathwork, Reiki and intuitive energy work, and restorative whole-bodied healing.

Current Offerings

  • Progressive Pilates Williamsburg Owner and Founder Brynne Billingsley offers a unique blend of Pilates, healing bodywork, breath work, and postural re-education in her customized sessions.

Brynne integrates her decades-long experience as a dance artist and educator and blends this somatic knowledge with a keen intuitive sensibility, recognizing the body-mind-heart-spirit connection through each session.

  • A Progressive Pilates signature service, we will delve deeply into your posture, identifying mis-alignments and faulty mechanics and explore the structural versus functional component of your postural alignment. We will then offer corrective exercises and increased proprioception that will change your habits, creating new patterns that you can take into your Pilates practice and into your life.
